Overall the reviews tended to be more positive than not with Metacritic giving the game 75/100 and PC Gamer a 66/100. Shardlight received mixed reviews when it came out with some gamers praising its character development, plot and soundtrack while others criticised the pacing of the game and didn’t enjoy some of the puzzles.
Shardlight is an Indie adventure game released in March of 2016 by Wadjet Eye Games who also brought you The Blackwell Legacy, Gemini Rue and Primordia.
There are also a few, but not many, logic puzzles throughout the game. Most puzzles involve interacting with items in the environment or giving items to someone to progress with the plot. If you get stuck on a puzzle take a little break and come back to it.You can examine and possibly interact with items in your inventory as well. Move the cursor to the top of the screen to view your inventory.Amy will say different things and may give clues as to what to do when you try to interact with or examine an item. Tiberius is the most compelling of villains: one who thinks he’s doing the right thing, and the secrets he’s hiding just added one more reason for me to play Shardlight through to the end. Left click to interact with an item and right click to examine an item. WadjetEye have created an interesting world for sure, but as with the best fiction it’s the characters that bring it to life. They may have important information or give you clues about what to do next. Wally’s – Enter the subway to find the last remaining train under the city. Reaper Cult – Follow the leads to find the Reaper. Rockwall Prison – After being captured by the guards make your escape from Rockwall Prison. Ministry of Medicine – Make an appointment to see the doctor and then find the Central Storage vault.
